I would start by saying … “Skeptics doubting my Tech-Quotient….or its score….have taken to roads, the streets, when no Tech Employer has even Employed me off-late, or kept me Employed over significant immediate past 🙂. As stupid, as self-destructive…it sounds…. you are at a risk of damaging your human capital… if you do not quarantine your offices elsewhere…from Pune-Tech 🙂. Today… Pune Tech has come to stand for – Corporate Pune as a community.
As threatening as it sounds, as cold a start it is – this is Corporate Pune Normalization, repeated every moment, every step of the way! Corporate Pune Employment is a Testing Venture, & such threats (which have realized as unchangeable conditions at Pune city’s Corporates, have been stoned as here to stay forever), If you want a taste of how a moment (forget about a day) at Pune city’s Corporates is – this is a good ‘Ta(e)sting Sample’ 🙂 – the Test is always embedded everywhere, without the person even knowing – what becomes a walk on a tight rope!
Now coming… to the realities… & meaningful talk! I have Pune’s Genes, & Tech is where I grew up Professionally, so in that sense, especially after more than 20 years since starting my career at Tech… Tech is an Alma Mater, & a Parent who raised me for Professional success… & thus the Tech Quotient in me fearlessly never is jeopardized, however much time I spend out of Tech 🙂.
Today, most Large Businesses are Tech-Enabled, an inevitable reality since at least a couple of decades….& IMO Tech swings the sentiment – in favour or against Large Businesses (who we very generically call Corporate, derived from the root Corporation). Tech & Information – Technology relies on Data over Network (which we call Intranet, Internet, & its fallout- social media, etc).
As someone who always was part of development organization – I always had reservations in having Testing or QC or QA silo driving the Dev Silo. And so is true about my personal dislike in having Dev driven by the TDD or Test Driven Development methodology! Doing so… has led the Corporate world into abusive misuse of Tech, & Info-Tech (where info flows over networks of various realms) the way it was never meant to be. The outcome is mainstream disbelief in development, organic development, & self reliance, & life threatening Pessimism & mainstream notion – failure, & fail fast is the only disclosure as a possible option to buy success – & there by a Corporate World that has forgotten how Corporates ever became Large, including forgetting totally even as a possibility that was the most known obvious and generally all-accepted way to scale – organic growth & Success by development. It has impacted all functions, levels, & cadres, including the Testing, QA, & QC itself, where the conventional most popularly globally accepted ways have become most hostilely forbidden – especially for masses!
Corporate Pune’s own version of Embedded Tech, & Data-“forced” over Embedded & Wearable Tech (the most basic thumb rule defying way), especially in various N number of configurations – is anything but Unreal! Despite the prevalent global weakness among the masses – the cause being low confidence & conviction owing to forgetting the Golden Paths to success – at both Individual & Team or Enterprise levels, the World still has “Faith” & Belief in 3 precious words… In Corporate Pune… 3 most precious words in the world are neither ‘I love you’, nor ‘Salary is Credited’, nor ‘You are Promoted’, but Pune city’s version (in native Marathi language) is मी पुन्हा येईन, & its palindrome येईन मी पुन्हा! which actually means on grounds “I choose yet again to opt for mere sense gratification, by merely feeling pseudo parity with the Top-Notch, by way of Direct Systemic Change, not withstanding how self Destructive a liability I am going to cost, & cumulatively keep costing repeatedly!”.
Within the Corporate World… does it make business (& personal as well) sense to keep Pune integrated with rest of geographies? – especially at any and all hierarchies, from freshers to leadership positions!
